I've finally got both of my locations sorted; my granda's garage for the second part of my opening sequence, and my brother's bedroom for the first part! The reason I'm using both of these locations as I am familiar with them both and I know that they're safe and comfortable for my actors to use. Secondly, they're versatile; both locations belong to family members that won't mind me moving things around or making changes (as long as I clean up afterwards!). My brother's room works well because it matches the idea I want for the main boy protagonist's room and also it has a desk and a chair that will be the main focus for the first half of my opening sequence. Things will obviously have to be moved like the TV and the Xbox which my brother has agreed to help with.
The garage won't need much rearranging as it's meant to look like a dirty old garage; all I'll be adding is some fake blood and a doll in the corner as well as maybe scattering some tools around.
Might be useful to do a "video guide" to your locations, linked to your script and storyboard - should be dead easy to do and quite informative?
